EnergyBillKill.com Fees

Our fees are simple, transparent and honest.

Energy suppliers pay our fees for business electricity and gas switching services. Suppliers spread them over the term of your contract.

We charge only a small administrative fee which is contained in our price and is one of the reasons why you will see that our prices are so low.

Non-Half Hourly Business Electricity meters

Your business electricity use is less than 49,999 kWh/year.

If you use less than 49,999 kWh / year then the energy company will add 0.10 pence to your bill to compensate us. For example, if you use 10,000 kWh/year we will get GBP 10.00 for your switch.

Your business electricity use is more than 49,999 kWh/year

If you use more than 49,999 kWh/ year then the energy company will add 0.20 pence to your bill to compensate us. For example, if you use 50,000 kWh/year we will get GBP 100 for your switch. Larger switches tend to be more complicated due to the somewhat antiquated nature of the energy sector in the UK.

Your business gas use

For business gas, the energy company will add 0.20 pence to your unit rates.

Half-Hourly Business Electricity meters

If you are a larger business, then we will provide you with a highly competitive quote. These quotes are done on a bespoke basis. Our aim is the same- massively reduce the cost to business. The half-hourly switching is still manual in the UK. Please contact us to ask us for a quote. Alternatively, please give us a ring at 0333 050 8419.

We do not add any fees to your standing charges.

Business energy brokers and hidden fees

Traditionally energy switching services (otherwise known as brokers or third party intermediaries, TPIs) charge fees for their services. These fees hide inside your monthly or quarterly business energy bill.

Some of these fees continue to be outrageous. Citizens Advice estimated in 2019 that up to 1mn+ of small and micro businesses are in danger of being ripped off. You can read about it by clicking here.

The energy industry has created a very complex way to include these fees in your bills. However, you will never know that you pay these fees.

Typically, the fees are hidden inside your unit charges. Those tiny pence numbers that appear on your bill. For example, you may see that you are paying 15 pence per Kilowatt hour. What you may not realise is that up to 4 pence in your bill may be going to the broker – every single bill. It does not stop there, the fees may also be added to your standing charges for your business electricity or business gas meter. The numbers seem small, but when you multiply these numbers by thousands of kilowatt hours, you suddenly realize that you are paying hundreds, thousands and tens of thousands pounds to brokers- without your knowledge.

Ofgem created a very nice graphic that explains this ‘hidden’ broker gold mine that is your business gas and electricity bill:
